Chemical Earthing Powder ( earthing chemical powder )
The performance of chemical earthing depends upon the Backfill compound also called as earthing chemical or chemical earthing powder . Earthing Chemical is used surrounding the earth electrodes with water. The 3E make Backfill Compound or chemical earthing powder expands when mixed with water, exerts pressure to the electrode and surrounding soil and lowers contact resistance of earth electrode. Further these compounds has much low soil resistivity in comparision to surrounding soil and help to extract fault current from the Pipe electrode by offerring low impedence to surge. In this way, the electrodes dissipate high transient currents with less ground potential rise. signifi These compounds are not containing corrosive mineral salts in excess of 2 to 5 % though are conductive due to the properties of moisture retention and Calcium or Sodium based montmorillonite compounds.
